This pedal is fantastic and for good reason. It's made by one of the leaders in the industry (Dunlop) and most importantly is sounds incredible! Here's some information from Dunlop on the Distortion +:

In the middle ranges of the Output and Distortion controls, you'll find soft-clipped distortion tones that sound truly retro-authentic, especially when they're mixed with a splash of reverb. Pushing Distortion up higher produces classic fuzz tones that are finding their way onto an increasing number of albums. A welcome, enjoyable alternative to LA saturation and British crunch.

MXR Distortion Plus Power:

Single 9 volt battery or Dunlop ECB-003 AC adapter

MXR Distortion Plus Controls:

- Footswitch toggles effect on/bypass (red LED indicates on)
- Output knob sets total output gain
- Distortion knob adjusts ratio of clean signal with distortion
